Nantucket is home to beautiful beaches, quaint little boutique shops, historic lighthouses, delicious restaurants, and much, much more. However, if you're looking to practice your stroke and want to tee off in between your other Nantucket activities, there are two public golf courses on the island that you'll definitely want to check out.

Miacomet Golf Course

If you're looking for an 18-hole golf course, the only public one on Nantucket is at Miacomet Golf Course. Ranging from 3,000-6,000 square feet, the green sizes vary enough that both professional and amateur players will find it challenging yet enjoyable. If you're brand new to the sport, Miacomet offers golf lessons taught by some of the top instructors in the country, so you'll be sure to learn the basics of golf from professional players.

If the weather is looking crummy or you're looking for a fun alternative to hitting the greens, you can also attend Miacomet for a round of golf in their Trackman Golf Simulator Bays. You can play up to 18 holes from over 100 world-class courses and block off up to 4 hours to play alongside family or friends.

Sconset Golf Course

Known to the locals as "Skinners Golf Course", Sconset Golf Course is one of the oldest public golf courses in the entire country. As a 9-hole course, playing on these greens gives you a chance to reminiscence on the history of the island while also enjoying a sport you love.

Basking in the history of the golf course, the small clubhouse was originally a farmhouse sitting on Bloomingdale Farm. Because of its open fields and lush green meadows, it was renovated into a golf course in 1899, and for over 100 years, it has continued to serve the public.

Before heading out for a day of golf, it's important to note that Sconset is a walking-only course, but with seven days a week availability, you should have ample availability to find a tee time that works for you!
